Key Club
A CREATIVE SPACE TO CONNECT, EXPLORE AND BELONG.
KEY CLUB IS A FREE CREATIVE ARTS AND SOCIAL CLUB FOR AUTISTIC YOUNG ADULTS AGED 18-30.
Meeting once a month from September to June, members take part in artist-led workshops exploring a wide range of creative activities, including film-making, creative writing, music, visual art, drama, photography, animation and circus skills. Alongside the workshops, members share refreshments and social time, creating opportunities to build friendships and connect with others in a welcoming and supportive environment.
Since 2003, Key Club members have created films, pop songs, videos, plays, art exhibitions, books, animations, television and radio programmes, while developing new skills and discovering different ways to express themselves creatively. The programme encourages communication, confidence and independence, providing a space where members can relax, be themselves and explore their interests alongside their peers.
“The Key Club not only allows members to create great art and learn new skills, it also helps them to develop friendships and inspires confidence." - The Lady
For many participants, Key Club is much more than a monthly workshop. It is an opportunity to become part of a creative community, develop lasting friendships and build confidence in a supportive environment. Through regular participation, members are encouraged to try new experiences, develop greater independence and remain connected to the arts and to one another.
