SPRING 2020 - UNFORTUNATELY DUE TO THE CORONAVIRUS WE HAVE HAD TO POSTPONE THE CURRENT TOUR, WE HOPE TO RE-SCHEDULE WHERE POSSIBLE AND WILL LET YOU KNOW WHEN WE HAVE MORE INFORMATION.
Thunder Road is a bold, original dark comedy which tells the story of two first aiders; Maureen (car loving loner with a past full of secrets) and Sylvie (unfulfilled dreamer escaping her unhappy home life through the TV), who embark on a training trip around UK village halls, delivering life-saving skills and survival tips.
But when things take an unexpected turn in a Travelodge, they are forced to go on the run, finding themselves on a Thelma and Louise style road trip to a soundtrack of Springsteen, in which the ludicrous terminology of first aid becomes a metaphor for their own survival.
‘So funny I cried.’
‘Best play I’ve ever seen – funny, political and a bit rude’
‘Fantastic production – humorous method of approaching taboo subjects’
