This is a wonderful opportunity to be involved in a high-quality community arts project and to learn music workshop facilitation skills from professionals.
Turtle Opera is a multi-disciplinary music and drama creative project for children on the autism spectrum with an interest in music or drama, between the ages of 11 and 14 years old.

SATURDAY 24TH: TRAINING AND MEET THE TEAM
SATURDAY 1ST OCTOBER – SATURDAY 26TH NOVEMBER: WORKSHOP SESSIONS WITH PARTICIPANTS PLUS SET UP AND DEBRIEF SESSIONS
The first session will involve an introduction to the project and some training in Autism and the arts. The young people then gather for the following nine Saturdays. The group will work with professional composer Richard Barnard and Director Claire Coache to create their own music and story which will culminate in a performance for friends, family and invited guests on Saturday 26th November at the Beacon. The team will be supported by a dedicated pastoral leader and pastoral assistant.
Students will receive autism training and be given further guidance on their role before the start of the project and will be supported throughout the project by the team.
